Privacy Policy

Wapi helps people make plans, save places and stay connected with friends and groups. This Privacy Policy explains the information Wapi processes, why it is used, the choices available to you and how account deletion works.
Information you provide
When you create or use a Wapi account, Wapi may process information you provide such as your name, display name, username, email address, mobile number, profile photo and other profile details. Wapi also stores content you choose to create or share, including plans, groups, RSVPs, comments and replies, lists, spots, ratings and photos.
Contacts
If you choose to sync contacts, Wapi reads the contact details needed for matching on your device and sends normalized email addresses or phone numbers to Wapi's account service to check whether those people already have Wapi accounts. Wapi does not upload your full address book as a persistent contact database, does not send invitations automatically and does not contact people without an action you choose. Contact matching is protected by server-side abuse limits.
Location and places
Wapi asks for device location only when you choose a location-based feature, such as nearby results or using your current location on a map. You can use manual search or custom-location options instead. Coordinates and place information that you intentionally add to a plan or list may be stored as part of that content. Mapping and place-search providers may receive the search terms, coordinates or network information needed to return map and place results.
Safety, activity and technical information
Wapi processes information needed to operate and secure the service, including account sessions, notification preferences, friendship and group relationships, blocks, reports, moderation information and technical request information. Wapi may retain limited safety or security records when reasonably necessary to prevent abuse, investigate reports or comply with law.
How Wapi uses information
Wapi uses information to provide account and social features, show plans and lists to the audiences you choose, match contacts when you request it, provide location and place features, deliver account and service messages, operate notifications, prevent abuse, investigate reports, maintain security and improve reliability.
Service providers
Wapi uses service providers to operate parts of the service, including Supabase for authentication, database and file storage; email-delivery services for account messages; website infrastructure; and mapping or place-search services. Wapi requires service providers that receive user information to handle it only for the service purposes described here and to protect it consistently with this policy and applicable privacy and security requirements.
No sale or cross-app tracking
Wapi does not sell personal information. Wapi does not use personal information for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
Your choices
You can control optional device permissions such as Contacts, Location, Photos and Notifications in device settings. Wapi also provides controls for profile privacy, blocking and reporting. Features that do not require a permission remain available when that permission is denied where reasonably possible.
Account deletion and retention
You can delete your Wapi account from inside the app. Wapi removes the account, profile, sessions and account-linked content according to the service's deletion process. Collaborative groups or lists may continue under another accepted member so shared work is not unnecessarily destroyed; where needed, contributions may be reassigned so they no longer depend on the deleted account. Limited information may be retained when required for security, fraud prevention, legal obligations or resolving reports.
Security
Wapi uses access controls and database-level authorization rules designed to prevent users from reading or changing information they are not allowed to access. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but Wapi works to limit access to the information needed for each feature.
Changes
If Wapi materially changes how information is handled, this policy will be updated and the date above will change.
